A list of all items within your shopping bag will be displayed in the top right hand corner of each page. You may also access your basket by clicking on the "Shopping Bag" button when viewing an individual item.
When you are ready to purchase your items, click the "Checkout" button. This will take you to the "Shopping Bag" which lists all of the items you have chosen to purchase, as well as the subtotal of the cost. If any special offers are available on your chosen items the details of these will be displayed in your "Shopping Bag". Please note, prices associated with promotional offers will be reflected once you proceed through the Checkout process.
To complete your purchase enter your email address and password in the fields to the right of the 'Shopping Bag'. If you have shopped online with David Jones previously simply enter the email address and password you previously registered with. Alternatively, you may register as a new user or utilise the guest checkout (however registering will speed up the checkout process for your next order).
Complete the address details for your order. If you are purchasing multiple items and wish to send the items to more than one address simply add additional address details as required. As a registered user these details will be saved in your personal address book.
The next available delivery date for your order will be calculated on the delivery address you have entered. If you wish to delay delivery to a specific date simply choose the new date as required. We do not deliver on weekends or public holidays.
Here you can choose to have your purchases gift wrapped, and if you'd like a special message for the recipient on a gift card. If you are purchasing multiple items you may choose to have the items wrapped together or separately. Please note, a wrapping charge of $4.95 will be applied for each individually wrapped item. This charge is complimentary for David Jones American Express and Store Card holders.
You'll be given a payment summary so you can check the complete details of your purchase. If any special offers or discounts apply to your order the total of your order will be updated here.
Choose the way you'd like to pay. You will be asked to enter your credit card details and the Credit Card Verification Number/Code (CVN).
Then enter your contact details so we can keep you up to date on your order.
Click the "Confirm Order" button to complete your order. You will then be shown a receipt for your order which you can print. Your receipt will also be emailed to you.

Where a minimum spend applies to qualify for a promotional offer, the spend must occur within one transaction. For your convenience David Jones provides a gift wrapping service. Gift wrapping is optional and charged at $4.95. This includes a greeting card with a personalised message of your choice.

Gift wrapping is complimentary when you use your David Jones American Express Card or David Jones Storecard.
All hampers are beautifully presented and can be accompanied by a greeting card with a personalised message of your choice. To include a message with your hamper, please select 'Gift Wrapping' during the checkout process. Please note you will not be charged an additional fee for this service.
David Jones American Express and David Jones Storecard holders enjoy complimentary standard delivery within Australia (excludes purchases of Gift Cards, wine club, hampers and large items).
Delivery and handling fee for Gift Cards is $4.95
Delivery and handling for all other merchandise is $9.95
David Jones is committed to providing a convenient solution to shopping online and we know you will be keen to receive your order as quickly as possible. Merchandise & Gift Card orders (excluding designer items) will be despatched within 1 business day from your order date.
Orders containing designer items will be despatched within 2-3 business days from your order date.

For your convenience we offer the ability to delay the delivery date on your order (weekends and public holidays excluded). Simply select the alternative date during checkout.
Please Note: You may nominate a date for delivery, however this date is nominated only and cannot be guaranteed. We aim to deliver within two working days either side of the nominated date.

The recipient, or anyone authorised to accept the goods on their behalf, must be present when the order is delivered. If there is no one at the address or no one willing and able to receive the order, a calling card will be left for you to collect the order from the Post Office.
Hampers containing alcohol must be purchased in accordance with the Liquor Act: It is an offence to sell or supply to or obtain liquor on behalf of a person under the age of 18 years. Proof of age must be supplied on request. A person under 18 years must not take delivery of any hampers containing alcohol. Hampers containing alcohol must be intended as a gift for another person.
Risk and title in the goods passes to the recipient upon delivery of the goods to your nominated Delivery Address.

In the circumstance where you are unable to exchange an item, subject to authorisation from a David Jones Manager, David Jones may in its absolute discretion provide you with a David Jones Gift Card to the current value of the of the item.
As a consumer, you are entitled to the benefit of statutory consumer guarantees in respect of items purchased from David Jones. David Jones will, at all times, honour its obligations under consumer guarantees in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. If you wish to return an item that you believe is defective or otherwise in breach of your consumer guarantees, it may be necessary for the item to be returned to the manufacturer for assessment to determine whether or not you are entitled to an exchange, refund or repair.
David Jones will accept:
All gift cards or bonus items which attached to the purchased products, or all elements of any bundled items, must also be returned with the original purchase. If not, the value of any such unreturned gift card, bonus or bundled item, or utilised portion of any gift card will be deducted from any refund.
Please choose carefully as we do not offer exchange or refund on the following items unless the item is faulty, significantly different from what was shown to you, not doing what it is supposed to do, or where otherwise required by law.
You may return a product, whether purchased online or instore to any David Jones department store (excluding David Jones warehouse outlets at Birkenhead Point or Harbour Town). In addition, for products purchased online, you may also return (but not exchange) the item by sending it to David Jones Online, Dock 8, Cnr of Stubbs & Derby Streets, Silverwater NSW 2128. Please include your Proof of Purchase, contact details (including the order number, name, email address and phone number) with your goods. You are responsible for any return postage costs.
To return items purchased from a Gift & Bridal Registry an appointment must be made with a Gift & Bridal consultant so that they can provide you with the information required to facilitate your return. To make an appointment please contact your nearest store. All Gift & Bridal returns will be managed in line with this Returns Policy.
We will refund using your original payment method, or, where appropriate and at David Jones' sole discretion, on a David Jones Gift Card.
